Fredericton works to make Killarney Lake Park a fun, affordable Atlantic destination

Work will be done this summer and fall on an 18-hole disc golf course that will turn into a nine-hole course in winter. Disc golf, sometimes called Frisbee golf, is played by rules similar to conventional golf.

The par-67 course at Killarney Lake is set to be championship-level, and Fredericton Disc Golf was a part of the consultation phase.

"One of the things that we heard from the public was the request for an actual disc golf course that we could host some competitions at," said Bobby Despres, the city's recreation and culture manager. Stouffville Plans Disc Golf Clinic for Grand Opening of New Course

The event is part of Fluent Disc Sport’s Discovery Zone, which offers “a comprehensive and family-friendly disc golf experience tailored to various park sizes, including smaller parkettes,” Papas explained. Fluent Launches Disc Golf Discovery Zones!

Fluent has released the newest advancement in disc golf course design for cities and urban centres that have traditionally struggled to include disc golf in their recreational plans due to space needs. The Disc Golf Discovery Zone solves this footprint issue and a number of other growth related problems, and will bring disc golf closer to where people live opening the door to a spike in growth! Revelstoke’s official Disc Golf course will see major improvements

For the redesign of the course, the RDGS has contracted Kevin Farley of Fluent Disc Sport in Ontario to collaborate and finalize the design. This course is being designed to accommodate people of all skill levels and Moores stresses that “the essence of the sport is to get out, throw frisbees and have fun.” While the holes at the redesigned course will generally be a bit longer than they are now, this course will continue to be a welcoming place for people of all abilities. Councillors try Disc Golf, a game drawing players from across Ontario to Lake of Bays! Bondi Village Resort ... had their course selected for the recent Provincial Disc Golf Championships. An event that brought over 200 visitors to the area. The outing was steeped in friendly competition as discs flew (sometimes even in the direction of the target!).
