Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty

Fluent Borealis Disc Golf Basket

Warranty Term: 25 years from the original purchase date
Product: Fluent Borealis Disc Golf Basket
Issued by: Fluent Disc Sport Inc.

1. Our Warranty Promise

The Fluent Borealis Disc Golf Basket is built for long outdoor service life. When it is properly installed, used for its intended purpose, and maintained on a reasonable schedule, Fluent Disc Sport Inc. warrants the Borealis basket against defects in materials and workmanship for 25 years from the original purchase date.

This warranty is meant to support owners who take care of their investment. Disc golf baskets live outdoors. They see weather, sun, freeze-thaw cycles, player contact, maintenance equipment, public use, and sometimes a little more enthusiasm than expected. Regular care helps the product perform properly, helps small issues get corrected early, and helps us stand behind the basket for the long term.

2. Who Is Covered

This warranty applies to the original purchaser, project owner, municipality, school, club, course operator, or property owner that purchased the product from Fluent Disc Sport Inc. or an authorised Fluent Disc Sport dealer.

Where a basket is installed as part of a public course, private course, school course, municipal project, park project, or similar permanent installation, the warranty follows the installed basket at its original site, provided that ownership, installation, and maintenance records can be reasonably documented.

3. What Is Covered

During the warranty term, Fluent Disc Sport Inc. will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or provide replacement parts for a Borealis basket that has failed because of a defect in materials or workmanship.

Covered defects may include:

  • Structural failure of the basket, pole, tray, or top assembly caused by a manufacturing defect.
  • Premature failure of welds, formed components, or factory-supplied hardware under normal disc golf use.
  • Abnormal corrosion that is clearly inconsistent with the expected service life of the product, provided that the basket was properly installed, maintained, and used in a suitable environment.
  • Factory coating or finish defects present at the time of delivery or appearing shortly after installation, provided they are reported promptly.

4. Proper Installation Is Required

Proper installation is required for this warranty to apply. A disc golf basket is only as reliable as the ground, sleeve, footing, drainage, and assembly supporting it.

The Borealis basket must be installed according to Fluent Disc Sport’s published installation instructions, project specifications, or written instructions approved by Fluent Disc Sport Inc.

Proof of proper installation may include:

  • Dated installation photos.
  • Installer notes or sign-off sheets.
  • Concrete, sleeve, footing, or anchor specifications.
  • Invoices or work orders from a contractor, course builder, municipality, or approved installer.
  • Project drawings or installation records.
  • Photos showing final plumb, level, height, drainage, and surrounding grade.

If installation records are not available, Fluent Disc Sport may still assess a claim using photos, site information, and product condition. However, warranty coverage may be declined if the product failure appears to be related to improper installation, inadequate footing, unstable soil, poor drainage, incorrect assembly, missing hardware, unsuitable mounting, or unapproved modification.

5. Required Maintenance

To keep the 25 year warranty in effect, the basket must be inspected and maintained on the schedule below. The required interval is based on both time and amount of use. The more a basket is used, the more often it should be checked.

Minimum Maintenance Schedule

Site Type Minimum Inspection and Maintenance Interval
Private, residential, demonstration, or very low-use installation Once every 12 months
School, camp, club, or typical recreational course Every 6 months or every 10,000 estimated player rounds, whichever comes first
High-use public course, tournament course, destination course, practice area, putting station, rental property, or unsupervised public installation Every 3 months or every 5,000 estimated player rounds, player visits, or practice sessions, whichever comes first
Harsh exposure site, including coastal air, road salt exposure, frequent irrigation overspray, industrial exposure, flood-prone areas, or severe winter service conditions Every 3 months, and after major weather or flooding events

For a normal course, one player round can be treated as one use of each basket on that course. For practice baskets, putting stations, or warm-up areas, owners should use a reasonable estimate based on activity level.

Maintenance Should Include

At each inspection, the owner or operator should:

  • Confirm that the basket is plumb, secure, and sitting at the correct height.
  • Check that the pole, sleeve, locking collar, tray, top assembly, and band are tight and secure.
  • Inspect chains, connectors, rings, hooks, and attachment points for excessive wear, missing parts, deformation, or damage.
  • Tighten or replace loose, missing, damaged, or worn hardware.
  • Check the footing, sleeve, surrounding grade, and drainage for movement, frost heave, erosion, standing water, or soil instability.
  • Remove debris, soil buildup, vegetation, and organic material from the basket and around the base.
  • Clean the basket using mild soap and water when needed.
  • Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, grinding, sanding, or aggressive pressure washing.
  • Address scratches, chips, or exposed metal promptly using a suitable touch-up method recommended by Fluent Disc Sport.
  • Inspect after storms, flooding, impacts, vandalism, maintenance equipment contact, or any event that may have damaged the basket.

6. Maintenance Records

Owners do not need complicated paperwork, but they do need to keep reasonable records. This helps confirm that the product has been cared for and helps us understand what happened if a problem develops.

Acceptable maintenance records may include:

  • A dated inspection checklist.
  • Dated photos.
  • A simple maintenance log.
  • Work orders.
  • Emails or notes from staff, volunteers, contractors, or course managers.
  • Receipts for replacement parts, touch-up materials, or repair work.

Warranty coverage may be declined, or the warranty may be considered void for the affected basket, if required maintenance was not performed, cannot be reasonably documented, or if lack of maintenance caused or contributed to the issue being claimed.

7. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover damage, wear, or failure caused by:

  • Improper installation, unstable footing, incorrect assembly, or unsuitable mounting.
  • Failure to follow Fluent Disc Sport installation or maintenance instructions.
  • Lack of required inspection, care, cleaning, adjustment, or maintenance.
  • Normal wear from regular disc golf use.
  • Cosmetic scratches, scuffs, fading, chalking, minor finish changes, or normal weathering.
  • Chain wear, chain movement marks, or wear caused by normal catching action.
  • Vandalism, theft, misuse, abuse, intentional damage, or unauthorised alteration.
  • Impact from vehicles, mowers, snow removal equipment, falling trees, rocks, or other outside forces.
  • Use of unapproved replacement parts, coatings, chemicals, cleaners, or hardware.
  • Relocation, removal, reinstallation, or site modification unless approved by Fluent Disc Sport.
  • Standing water, flooding, erosion, chemical exposure, fertilizer exposure, road salt exposure, irrigation overspray, or corrosive environments where the product is not maintained appropriately for those conditions.
  • Acts of nature, extreme weather, fire, flood, lightning, windstorm, or other events outside normal use.
  • Labour, equipment, shipping, travel, removal, reinstallation, downtime, loss of use, or other incidental costs, unless approved in writing by Fluent Disc Sport Inc.

8. Replacement Parts and Repairs

If a claim is approved, Fluent Disc Sport Inc. may choose to repair the product, supply replacement parts, replace the affected component, or replace the basket. Replacement parts may be new, refurbished, or functionally equivalent.

A replacement part or replacement product does not restart the 25 year warranty term. The original warranty term continues from the original purchase date.

9. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a claim, contact Fluent Disc Sport Inc. with the following information:

  • Purchaser name, project name, and site location.
  • Proof of purchase or project invoice.
  • Installation date and installation documentation, if available.
  • Maintenance records for the affected basket.
  • Clear photos of the entire basket, the affected area, the footing or base, and the surrounding site conditions.
  • A short description of the issue and when it was first noticed.

Fluent Disc Sport may request additional photos, video, site information, or return of the affected part before approving a claim.

10. Product Care Matters

The Borealis basket is designed to be a long-term piece of outdoor sport infrastructure. A small amount of regular care makes a real difference. Keeping hardware tight, keeping the basket clean, correcting drainage issues, replacing worn parts, and documenting inspections helps protect the product, the course, and the people who use it.

This warranty is not meant to discourage claims. It is meant to make sure that long-term product support is tied to proper installation, fair use, and reasonable care.

11. Legal Rights

This limited warranty gives the owner specific warranty protection from Fluent Disc Sport Inc. It is in addition to any rights or remedies that may apply under applicable consumer protection, sale of goods, or other laws. Nothing in this warranty is intended to limit rights that cannot legally be limited.

Fluent Solum Artificial Turf

Warranty Term: 15 years from the original purchase date
Product: Fluent Solum Artificial Turf
Issued by: Fluent Disc Sport Inc.

1. Our Warranty Promise

Fluent Solum Artificial Turf is designed for disc golf tee pads, practice areas, and similar sport applications where a durable, consistent, and low-maintenance playing surface is needed. When it is properly installed over a suitable base, used for its intended purpose, and maintained on a reasonable schedule, Fluent Disc Sport Inc. warrants Solum Artificial Turf against defects in materials and workmanship for 15 years from the original purchase date.

Artificial turf performs best when the whole system is built properly. The turf, base, drainage, edge restraint, fastening, seams, and surrounding grade all work together. This warranty is built around that reality. We want owners to get the longest possible life from their turf, and regular care is part of protecting that investment.

2. Who Is Covered

This warranty applies to the original purchaser, project owner, municipality, school, club, course operator, or property owner that purchased the product from Fluent Disc Sport Inc. or an authorised Fluent Disc Sport dealer.

Where the turf is installed as part of a permanent tee pad, practice area, school course, public park, private course, or similar project, the warranty follows the installed turf at its original site, provided that ownership, installation, and maintenance records can be reasonably documented.

3. What Is Covered

During the warranty term, Fluent Disc Sport Inc. will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or provide replacement material for Solum Artificial Turf that has failed because of a defect in materials or workmanship.

Covered defects may include:

  • Manufacturing defects in the turf surface, backing, or construction.
  • Premature backing separation or delamination under normal disc golf use.
  • Abnormal fibre loss, fibre breakdown, or surface failure that is clearly inconsistent with the expected service life of the product.
  • Factory defects that prevent the turf from being installed or used as intended, provided they are reported before installation or promptly after discovery.

4. Proper Installation Is Required

Proper installation is required for this warranty to apply. Solum Artificial Turf must be installed according to Fluent Disc Sport’s published installation instructions, project specifications, or written instructions approved by Fluent Disc Sport Inc.

Unless Fluent Disc Sport has approved a different system in writing, a warrantable tee pad installation should include:

  • A stable, compacted subgrade.
  • Suitable separation fabric or geotextile where required by soil conditions or project specifications.
  • A properly compacted crushed gravel base, typically 8 inches total depth for permanent disc golf tee pads, or the project-specific depth approved by Fluent Disc Sport.
  • Positive drainage that moves water away from the tee pad and prevents prolonged saturation of the base.
  • Proper surface grading so water does not pond on or beside the turf.
  • Secure edge restraint, framing, fastening, or anchoring appropriate for the site.
  • Correct turf orientation, trimming, fastening, and seam treatment.
  • Protection from wrinkles, unsupported edges, base settlement, sharp objects, and construction damage.

Proof of proper installation may include:

  • Dated installation photos showing excavation, base construction, compaction, drainage, edge restraint, and finished surface.
  • Contractor, installer, volunteer crew, or staff notes.
  • Invoices, work orders, or project records.
  • Material tickets for gravel, geotextile, edging, fasteners, or related materials.
  • Photos showing finished grade, edge restraint, and surrounding drainage.

If installation records are not available, Fluent Disc Sport may still assess a claim using photos, site information, and product condition. However, warranty coverage may be declined if the product failure appears to be related to improper installation, poor base construction, inadequate compaction, poor drainage, unsupported edges, incorrect fastening, unsuitable soil conditions, or unapproved modification.

5. Required Maintenance

To keep the 15 year warranty in effect, the turf must be inspected and maintained on the schedule below. The required interval is based on both time and amount of use. Tee pads and practice areas with heavier traffic need more frequent attention.

Minimum Maintenance Schedule

Site Type Minimum Inspection and Maintenance Interval
Private, residential, demonstration, or very low-use installation Every 6 months
School, camp, club, or typical recreational course Every 3 months or every 5,000 estimated tee uses, whichever comes first
High-use public course, tournament course, destination course, practice area, throwing station, or unsupervised public installation Monthly or every 2,500 estimated tee uses, whichever comes first
Harsh exposure site, including shaded damp areas, flood-prone areas, heavy leaf litter, severe winter service conditions, or sites with known drainage pressure Monthly, and after major weather, flooding, freeze-thaw, or maintenance equipment events

For tee pads, one player round can be treated as one tee use per tee pad. For practice areas or throwing stations, owners should use a reasonable estimate based on activity level.

Maintenance Should Include

At each inspection, the owner or operator should:

  • Remove leaves, sticks, stones, soil, litter, and organic debris from the turf surface.
  • Check for low spots, soft areas, wrinkles, ripples, lifting edges, loose fasteners, exposed fasteners, or seam movement.
  • Inspect the surrounding grade to confirm that water is shedding away from the tee pad.
  • Clear blocked drainage paths and remove built-up soil or vegetation along the edges.
  • Groom or brush the turf as needed to keep fibres standing and to reduce compaction in high-traffic areas.
  • Check that edging, framing, anchors, and fasteners remain secure.
  • Repair small edge, seam, or fastening issues promptly before they become larger problems.
  • Remove weeds or vegetation growing at edges or through the base.
  • Avoid sharp metal tools, aggressive scraping, direct flame, harsh chemicals, petroleum products, solvents, and unapproved cleaners.
  • Avoid using metal snow shovels, plow blades, ice chippers, or de-icing chemicals directly on the turf unless specifically approved by Fluent Disc Sport.
  • Inspect after storms, flooding, freeze-thaw events, vandalism, construction activity, mowing incidents, or equipment contact.

6. Maintenance Records

Owners do not need complicated paperwork, but they do need to keep reasonable records. Turf is a long-term surface system, and photos or simple notes make it much easier to identify whether an issue comes from the product, the installation, the site, or normal wear.

Acceptable maintenance records may include:

  • A dated inspection checklist.
  • Dated photos of each tee pad or practice area.
  • A simple maintenance log.
  • Work orders.
  • Emails or notes from staff, volunteers, contractors, or course managers.
  • Receipts for replacement fasteners, grooming tools, cleaning supplies, edge repairs, or drainage work.

Warranty coverage may be declined, or the warranty may be considered void for the affected turf installation, if required maintenance was not performed, cannot be reasonably documented, or if lack of maintenance caused or contributed to the issue being claimed.

7. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover damage, wear, or failure caused by:

  • Improper installation, poor base construction, inadequate compaction, unstable soil, unsupported edges, or poor drainage.
  • Failure to follow Fluent Disc Sport installation or maintenance instructions.
  • Lack of required inspection, care, cleaning, grooming, repair, or maintenance.
  • Normal wear from regular disc golf use.
  • Expected fibre wear in high-traffic throwing areas.
  • Minor matting, flattening, colour variation, fading, or normal weathering.
  • Cuts, burns, melting, punctures, tears, snags, or surface damage caused by tools, footwear, equipment, vehicles, mowers, snow removal, animals, vandalism, smoking materials, fireworks, or other outside forces.
  • Damage caused by petroleum products, solvents, harsh chemicals, adhesives, paints, de-icing salts, fertilizers, pesticides, or unapproved cleaners.
  • Damage caused by standing water, flooding, blocked drainage, erosion, frost heave, root movement, settlement, or surrounding site conditions.
  • Damage caused by unapproved infill, coatings, fasteners, adhesives, seam products, or repair methods.
  • Relocation, removal, reinstallation, or site modification unless approved by Fluent Disc Sport.
  • Acts of nature, extreme weather, fire, flood, lightning, windstorm, or other events outside normal use.
  • Labour, equipment, shipping, travel, removal, reinstallation, downtime, loss of use, or other incidental costs, unless approved in writing by Fluent Disc Sport Inc.

8. Replacement Material and Repairs

If a claim is approved, Fluent Disc Sport Inc. may choose to repair the affected area, supply replacement turf, replace the affected section, or provide another practical remedy. Replacement material may come from current production and may not be an exact colour or texture match to aged material already installed outdoors.

A replacement section or replacement product does not restart the 15 year warranty term.

  • Maintenance records for the affected turf area.
  • Clear photos of the entire tee pad or turf area, the affected area, edges, seams, surrounding grade, and drainage conditions.
  • A short description of the issue and when it was first noticed.

Fluent Disc Sport may request additional photos, video, site information, product samples, or return of affected material before approving a claim.

10. Product Care Matters

Solum Artificial Turf is designed to be a reliable surface for disc golf, but it is still part of an outdoor system. Keeping debris off the surface, maintaining drainage, securing edges, brushing high-traffic areas, and correcting small issues early can add years of useful service life.
